I love exercise because it helps me feels strong, happy and confident within my own body.
However with Covid-19 happening it caused most gyms to close and reopen all year round. This year has made me realize that you do not actually need gyms in order to stay in shape, you only need yourself, self-love and the right amount of motivation.
Over time I have discovered apps that allow you to workout at home and the best thing about them is that they are FREE so here are my 2 favorites!
1. FitOn App
I have stumbled upon this app in the beginning of this year and I have been using it ever since! There is a lot of different types of workouts, intensities and many different trainers such as Gabrielle Union, Christine Bullock, Cassey Ho, Vytas and Jeanette Jenkins which leaves you to discover what works best with you and your own body. They recently added meditations too!
You can also choose different workout plans like build muscle, reduce stress, prenatal fit, postnatal fit, stay toned, lose weight and be more active plans but you still have the freedom of controlling what you do yourself.
There is also a feature where you can search for a specific workout, time length, equipment, muscle group, intensity or even trainer to help you choose the best workout for your day. There are 3 intensity levels for different workouts which gives you the opportunity to choose which one to do depending on how you feel.
For premium users there is also different healthy recipes for you from breakfast all the way to dinner, including snacks!
There are challenges each month for you to join and loads of free advice to keep you going and learning more about fitness, nutrition and wellness.
You can add and motivate your friends and family. There is even a FitOn party feature where you can video call while doing a workout to keep you connected to others and motivated.
If you would like there is also a feature of set "workout classes" to do at home! This is where a certain workout will be done at a specific time that you can join so you can plan your day around that or if you like the element of a class you would not have to miss it as much.
2.Nike Training Club App.
I actually used this app before Covid and I loved it. Even though I haven't used it in awhile I still highly recommend.
It allows you to choose your own workout plan but you can also do what you want when you want.
The exercises are split into workout focus, muscle group or even the type of equipment used.
The exercises have different time ranges from short 5 minutes to as long as 47 minutes.
The workout focus includes endurance, mobility, strength and yoga workouts. The muscle groups are split into abs &core, arms & shoulders and glutes & legs.
There is 3 equipment options where you can choose no equipment, basic equipment or full equipment. You can see how to do the workout before hand and even see what is coming up (or how far your next break is).
Here is a link to the Nike Training Club website.
Both of these apps are my go to apps to in order to get a free worthy workout.
Do you have any free go to workout apps? I would love to hear what they are and maybe even try them out.
Love Char.
